Soil Sampling

Soil testing helps in determining soil nutrient levels and deficiencies in your soil and provides a basis for wise use of fertilizer and lime. For advice, see the following documents:

The Conservation District has soil sample test boxes available for purchase. If you want to find out what your soil needs in order to grow a better lawn, flowers, vegetables, trees or other crops better, then a soil test is the thing to do. Soil samples are sent to the Michigan State University Soil Lab. Results include current nutrient levels and lime and fertilizer recommendations, based upon what you want to grow.
