Conservation Planning Assistance
Conservation District and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service staff are available to assist land-users, communities, and units of government in planning and implementing conservation systems to reduce erosion, improve soil and water quality, improve and conserve wetlands, enhance wildlife habitat, improve woodlands, and more.
Conservation District staff assistance is specific to forestry and wildlife management, or groundwater stewardship:
- Forestry Assistance Program
Our Forester can assist with tree, woodland management, wildlife habitat and wetlands; - Groundwater Stewardship Program
Our Groundwater AmeriCorps volunteer can assist agricultural landowners with assessing the potential groundwater risks on their farmsteads, offer cost share for implementing groundwater protection practices, and provide educational presentations on groundwater; staff to provide soils information, erosion control recommendations, and conservation planning assistance.
Information on assistance available from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is explained at the Michigan USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service web site: Conservation and Areawide Planning.
