Washtenaw County Soils

Below is a list of the soil types found in Washtenaw County.  The symbol and name are provided for each soil type. 

What do the symbol mean?

• The first capital letter is the first letter of the soil name.
• The lower case letter that follows separates mapping units beginning with the same capital letter.
• A second capital letter indicates the slope class.
• Symbols without slope letters are for nearly level soils or for miscellaneous land types which may have a wide slope range.
