The Washtenaw County Conservation District is happy to announce that we are partnering with Washtenaw County Materials Management Division to hold our 3rd Annual Tractor Tire Drive on December 9th from 9am-1pm at Freedom Township Hall. Since it’s inception, this tire drive has collected 314 tractor tires from the agricultural community, preventing them from leaching chemicals into groundwater and reducing the breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
This event is free and available to residents within Washtenaw County. The aim of this event is to provide a recycling opportunity specific to large tractor tires. While we are unable to accept automotive tires, there are several events throughout the year that can. Events can be found through Manchester, Bridgewater, and Dexter Townships, also Public works hosts a County Cleanup day event that accepts automotive tires.
Registration for the event is required as space is limited and there is a limit of four tires per address or operation.
Tires left outside of drop off hours may result in the cancellation of future tire drive events.
